Oceanbridge NZL Sailing Regatta entries open

Issue date

Entries are now open for the Oceanbridge NZL Sailing Regatta to be held at the Wakatere Boating Club on April 10-11.

The event is open to all Olympic and youth classes and many of this country's top Olympic campaigners are expected to take part as they prepare for July's Tokyo Olympics.

All of the classes set down for the 2024 Paris Olympics, except the two-handed offshore class, will be raced including windfoiling and kitefoiling.

You can find the notice of race and entry form here and you can also find a link where volunteers can register here. Assistance is needed both on and off the water, whether it's for one day or both.

"We're really excited to be able to confirm that we'll be running the Oceanbridge NZL Sailing Regatta again in 2021," Yachting New Zealand's regatta organiser Sam Mackay said. "We didn't get to host it last year so we're looking to have a quality regatta and expect to see many of those with their sights on Paris in 2024 taking part.

"We needed to go for a later date than normal to avoid the busy schedule of events as well as the America's Cup. Hopefully the timing of this event will ensure we get healthy fleets across the classes."

Last year's Oceanbridge NZL Sailing Regatta was cancelled at the last minute due to Covid-19.
