New Zealand has won gold in the 49er and silver in the Laser at the 2016 Sailing World Cup Hyeres. Peter Burling and Blair Tuke had their medal secure before starting today’s medal race, Sam Meech’s silver came after a dramatic on water tussle. The five-day regatta wrapped up today in France under stormy skies with a breeze that went from brisk to bust. New Zealand also collected two medal race victories with both Jo Aleh and Polly Powrie in the women’s 470 and Andy Maloney in the Laser finishing on a high note. Read more

Peter Burling and Blair Tuke have once again secured 49er gold before starting the medal race, this time at 2016 Sailing World Cup Hyeres in France.  Another six New Zealand crews will sail in tomorrow’s medal races on the final day of the regatta. Read more

At the close of day two 2016 Sailing World Cup Hyeres the NZL Sailing Team are in the top two in three events, with a total of nine kiwi crews placed within the top ten. While day one produced top end conditions, with capsizes, rig and boat damage across the fleets, today things turned around and the sailors faced the challenge of a no wind delay, followed by a shifty building breeze.  Read more

The NZL Sailing Team has made a strong start at 2016 Sailing World Cup Hyeres Regatta holding the early lead in three of the ten Olympic class events being contested in France including the Finn, 49er and women’s 470. Peter Burling and Blair Tuke, Jo Aleh and Polly Powrie, and Josh Junior all out-performed their rivals today and sit atop their respective leader boards after day one of the five day regatta. Peter Burling and Blair Tuke have secured the 2016 49er European Championship and their 25th consecutive 49er regatta victory. Alex Maloney and Molly Meech closed out the regatta in 5th place in the 49erFX.  Read more

New Zealand is well placed to secure two gold medals at Trofeo SAR Princesa Sofia IBEROSTAR Regatta. Both Andy Maloney (Laser) and Josh Junior (Finn) lead their fleets and are well clear on points after an eventful and rainy day in Palma. Just the medal races remain, and all Josh Junior needs to do to win gold is show up and complete the race. Read more
