An open BOP/Waikato Starling coaching clinic was run over Queens Birthday weekend at the Rotorua Yacht Club. Northern Region RSO Hamish Hey worked with ten sailors from the Development Fleet at this year’s Nationals on Sunday and then with coaches Andrew Brown and James Turner, a full 18 boat fleet from around the regions on Monday.

Ngaroto Sailing Club offers Learn to Sail programmes for Juniors and Adults in a safe environment facilitated by YNZ accredited coaches. Appropriate boats for your learning are provided and some boats are available for your future enjoyment. Lake Ngaroto, 5 km north of Te Awamutu is the premiere sailing lake in the Waikato. The family orientated Ngaroto Sailing Club offers programmes for all ages in dinghies and trailer yachts.
Hamilton Yacht Club is situated on Lake Rotoroa, Innes Common, Hamilton, New Zealand. It is home to an active sailing community and is particularly strong in the Zephyr class as well as the Optimist, P Class, Starling, 3.7 and Laser Classes. Racing is on Saturday afternoons, first race (1330hrs). Twilight Racing is on Wednesday evenings, start time 1800hrs. Our season runs from October to Easter.
