Waikato Yacht Squadron

Our first and foremost objective is to encourage and support safe family sailing - both cruising and racing.  The Squadron began in 1968 as the Waikato Trailer Yacht Squadron and in 1990 changed its name to embrace a growing number of keelboat owners.  Today it provides a club focus for around 75 boat-owning members and their families. Nearly all our sailing activities are based in the Hauraki Gulf and originate from either Kawakawa Bay where the Squadron operates a secure trailer yacht parking area, or the Pine Harbour Marina where most keelers are moored.  Our on-water events generally i

Thames Sailing Club

The Thames Sailing Club was formed in 1943 and is well established as a family friendly club, catering for all ages and skill levels. 

The Thames Sailing Club offers 

-  A purpose built clubhouse with race control centre. 

-  Great location providing easy access to a large, well-protected bay suitable for small boat racing, sailing and training through a wide range of weather conditions. 

-  Catering for all classes of dingy and multihulls. 

-  Club boats available for hire.

Ngaroto Sailing Club

Ngaroto Sailing Club offers Learn to Sail programmes for Juniors and Adults in a safe environment facilitated by YNZ accredited coaches.    Appropriate boats for your learning are provided and some boats are available for your future enjoyment.   Lake Ngaroto, 5 km north of Te Awamutu is the premiere sailing lake in the Waikato.  The family orientated Ngaroto Sailing Club offers programmes for all ages in dinghies and trailer yachts.

Hamilton Yacht Club

Hamilton Yacht Club is situated on Lake Rotoroa, Innes Common, Hamilton, New Zealand. It is home to an active sailing community and is particularly strong in the Zephyr class as well as the Optimist, P Class, Starling, 3.7 and Laser Classes. Racing is on Saturday afternoons, first race (1330hrs). Twilight Racing is on Wednesday evenings, start time 1800hrs. Our season runs from October to Easter.

The club is family oriented, providing both casual and serious sailors of all ages with a safe and enjoyable sailing-club environment.
