A windsurfing Open Day held recently at Rotorua Yacht Club proved a huge success with local kids welcomed along to the yacht club to try out the sport. Around half of those who showed up will be back at the Club for more.
YNZ’s Regional Support Officer for the Northern Region, Hamish Hey recently organised a pre-season Coaching Clinic including Optis, P Class, Starling, Board Sailing and 420s for more than sixty youngsters.
While Tauranga sailors Peter Burling and Jason Saunders took on the world at the 2012 Olympics off Weymouth, Alex Hart went to compete in the Bic Techno 293 world championships, and Oscar Rorvik was competing in the 420 world champs in Austria.
