Located at the foot of the harbour in Tauranga, the TYPBC has a vibrant membership that embraces all varieties of yachting and water born activities imaginable. Supported by our state of the art facilities, sailors young and old, from beginner to expert, in all types of boats are offered a friendly, fun Yacht Club that promotes excitement about sailing and yacht racing.
Bay of Plenty
The club sails most Sundays from the club house at Port Ohope Wharf. (Excluding the months of July and August). We are usually at the clubhouse at 12.30pm to rig up the boats for a 1.30pm start on the water, weather conditions permitting.
Our fleet consists of Lasers (full, radial and 4.7 rigs) and Optimists.

Lake Taupo Yacht Club is a family yacht club on Lake Taupo, providing a racing and cruising programme for adults and introducing young people to sailing, and training them to love and excel at the sport.
We have a great clubhouse on the Lake with great views and a boatshed a few yards away. The boat shed houses our fleet of member centreboard boats. In addition we have our start boats P2 and P6 moored in the Harbour nearby. Trailer sailors have access to secure pens in the harbour and some members have permanent moorings in the harbour.
The Bay of Plenty Trailer Yacht Squadron was incorporated in 1976. It is based in the city of Rotorua and operates from its marina in Okawa Bay situated next to Lake Rotoiti. ( see google earth- Lake Rotoiti). BOPTYS has approximately 130 members with various classes of trailer yachts. Trailer yachts are administered by the New Zealand Trailer Association. There are well over 160 trailer yacht designs registered with NZTYA in New Zealand.
