Our Lawson’s Dry Hills New Year Regatta has gone from strength to strength in recent years. It is the largest keelboat regatta south of Auckland and attracts yachts and their crews from Wellington, Nelson and Lyttleton as well as our own Marlborough based fleet.
The Waikawa Boating Club is thrilled to announce the 2018 Regatta will see a new associate partnership with Airbus sponsoring the Friday Twilight Invitation Race.
Our Regatta is held on the 2nd weekend in January and the 2018 event is shaping up to be the biggest yet with the Flying Fifteen Nationals being held in conjunction with our regatta. We have 5 divisions to cater for all levels, from the super speedy to the more sedate cruising yachts and are expecting 40-60 yachts and their crews to converge on Marlborough for this weekend.
This year the Club has a special deal on yachts entering the WineWorks Marlborough Wine Race on December 1 and the Lawson's Dry Hills New Year Regatta in association with Airbus. Including entry to both events, for $300 visiting yachts will also receive a 2 month membership allowing access to almost 100 moorings through the Sounds and D'Urville Island!
