Yachting New Zealand has established a nationwide network of safety inspectors who are always available for advice and assistance with any aspects of your yacht’s safety. Appointed by Yachting New Zealand and the Maritime New Zealand, they can provide advice on the cheapest and easiest way to set up your boat’s safety equipment.
Yachting New Zealand and Maritime New Zealand appointed Safety Inspectors are directed by the Yacht Safety Inspectors' Manual.

To members of Yachting New Zealand affiliated yacht clubs, the cost of an inspection is $120.00. This certificate will be valid for two years.
To all others, the cost is:
- $155 for a one year certificate
- $190 for a two year certificate
On the basis of prevention being better than cure, Yachting New Zealand strongly urges owners and skippers of cruising vessels to contact a Yachting New Zealand safety inspector in your area for a check up of safety equipment. By helping New Zealand boatowners and skippers to help themselves, we can reduce the stress on the already stretched emergency services and resources.
